LEMOM: THE MOTORCYCLISTS' CLUB OF MILOS
2nd MILOS MOTO HAPPENING PROGRAM Sep. 15-17, 2006 in Milos
		The First Meeting of Motorcyclists . The first meeting of motorcyclists on Milos took place from 29.9. - 3.10. 2005 and was organized by the newly founded LEMOM. It met with great success and was attended by about 40 visitors and quite a few Melians.
Motorcyclists from the following clubs took part: the clubs from St. Nicolas, Heraclion and Zaros in Crete, the clubs from Tripolis, Tricala and Corinth as well as clubs from Athens with the largest turnout by members of The Friends of Kawasaki Club.
The touring event was divided into two courses on different surfaces - one on asphalt and one along dirt roads - participants being allotted to either according to the type of their motorcycle. The asphalt team toured the northern coast (Sarakiniko-Papafragas-Pollonia), the archaeological sites and the Catacombs. The dirt road team visited mainly the western part of the island (St.Marina-Ralaki-Vani-St.John's Monestary-Xylokeratia-Kedroi-Provatas-The Phyriplaka Crater-St.Kyriaki-Paliochori).
The participants covered two stunningly beautiful courses of about 100 km in all. The routes were highly interesting not only as motorcycle-touring events, but also from the historical, cultural, geological, mining engineering and naturalists' points of view. Still they represent only a very small part of all the dimensions existing in the ever-varying Melian landscape. LEMOM welcomes all participants in its forthcoming events!
