Milos Beaches
More than 72 beaches to enjoy!
Milos is not the place to find kilometer long, monotonous beaches. The island's impressive attraction is its own diversity with the multiform characteristics. It offers beaches that will suit any taste. Beaches with soft, fine sand, others with coarse sand, many with pebbles, white or colorful, as well as beaches full of rocks or under cliffs. The largest beaches are located near the main port and in the south part of Milos. There are countless little bays and tiny coves surrounded by multifarious rocks of various types of trachyte offering a painter's pallet of colors to the eyes. One will find white, red, purple, grey, yellow, brown rocks ending up to crystal clear seawater in all possible shades of blue. Even on the days with the common Aegean northeastern wind (Meltemi), Milos is the place where you will find the shelter of large or small beaches in the southern part, where you will enjoy an incredible swim, hours of sunbathing and many activities.
Places of unique beauty that you should not miss are Sarakiniko and Gerondas
Boat trips - a unique experience
You can reach most beaches by car either on asphalt or good condition dirt roads. Yet, there are a lot of really beautiful places accessible only by boat. If you haven't got your own means, it's a great idea to enjoy them on a daily trip with one of the boats travelling to all interesting places daily. You may choose among many types of boats (traditional, catamaran, sailing etc) most of them based in Adamas but also at Pollonia, Provatas and Paliochori. Most boats are available for both group trips and private hire as well.
Incredible places to visit by boat are the cave of Sykia and Kleftiko
